Understanding AI Credits and Usage
How AI credits work, what they're used for, and how to get more.
Understanding AI Credits and Usage
AI credits power the smart features in Next Day Sales — Answer Engine responses, Content Studio generations, Insights audits, and FAQ suggestions.
What Are AI Credits?
Each AI-powered action (an Answer Engine response, a Content Studio piece, a weekly Insights scan) consumes a defined number of credits. Your plan includes a monthly allowance that resets on the first of each month.
Monthly Allowances
| Plan | Sites | AI interactions / month |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | 1 | 500 |
| Growth | 1 | 2,000 |
| Scale | 1 | 10,000 |
| Agency | Unlimited | Pooled across sites; see plan details |
Per-site Answer Engine quotas are enforced independently of the workspace credit pool, so a single noisy site can't exhaust everything.
Checking Your Balance
Your remaining credits are shown in the AI Credits section of the dashboard. You can also see a breakdown by feature in Settings → Usage.
Running Out of Credits
If you hit zero, AI features fall back gracefully — the Answer Engine returns a cached or extractive answer where possible — and the dashboard prompts you to upgrade or top up. You have two options:
- Wait for the monthly reset on the 1st of next month.
- Upgrade your plan for a larger ongoing allowance.
Tips for Saving Credits
- Cache static answers in your FAQ so the Answer Engine doesn't need to generate them.
- Edit generated Content Studio drafts manually for small tweaks instead of regenerating.
- Resolve Insights findings as they land — every resolved finding is one less re-scan cost.
