Reps & Conversion

Choosing where an Ask Rep lives

Seven placements for the Ask Rep, what each one suits, and the mobile details that matter.

Every Ask Rep runs the same guided search experience. The only decision is where it lives on the page.

    PlacementSnippetUse it when
Inline in the pageAnchoredYou want a compact ask box in a specific section — under a service description, above a price list.
HeroAnchoredThe Rep should carry the top of the page. Comes with eyebrow, title and subtitle fields.
Chatbot panelScript-onlyThe site wants a persistent assistant, with follow-ups, a welcome message and a teaser bubble.
Floating buttonScript-onlyYou want it always available with minimal visual weight.
Sticky bottom barScript-onlyA slim, persistent prompt on every page — strong on mobile-heavy sites.
Discreet nav iconAnchoredThe design cannot take a floating element. It reads as native site search.
Exit intentScript-onlyOne last prompt as a visitor leaves. See Exit-intent Ask Rep.

You can switch placement later without re-pasting anything, as long as the snippet shape stays the same. Moving between an anchored and a script-only placement does need a new snippet — the Install panel always shows the current one.

    Placement and offsets

Floating, chatbot and sticky Reps can be positioned per site under Customize — corner, horizontal and vertical offsets, and a separate mobile clearance so the Rep never covers a sticky call bar or cookie notice. See Positioning a Rep.

    Discreet nav icon on mobile

Most navs collapse into a hamburger menu, so repeat the anchor element (or the data-nds-search attribute) inside the mobile menu markup. The loader script is only needed once. On screens under 640px the expanding field automatically falls back to the centred modal, since a nav-embedded input is not usable at that width.

    How many per site

One Ask Rep per template is usually enough. A common pairing is a hero Ask Rep on the homepage plus a chatbot or sticky bar site-wide — they share the same crawl, branding and Leads inbox.
